Rebirth in a sense...
Dear Readers,
I don't know why but I have suddenly acquired an overpowering desire to blog. I do hope that you will bear with me. First of all, I would like to clarify that I am not blogging on behalf of anyone or any body, these are all my own opinions as a layman and are freely debatable. If you feel that you can't agree with anything I have said there is a nifty little short cut for you which is the key combination "alt + F4", please exercise your right to quiet ignorance. And I would also like to apologize for any typos that you might find..
A personal note from a Malaysian,
I believe that I qualify as the layman of the people, a person who just wants to live in peace and fulfil his dreams to furthest extent possible. I do not comprehend nor do I enjoy politics and I have even less interest in current issue unless it pertains to me directly. This may be selfish and be very close to how a conformist would would act. However the act of being indifferent does not afford me the luxury of exclusion. Malaysia is on a downward spiral and I believe we will not last long in this global race. I don't mean to say that we will be forced into extinction and be destroyed by our "enemies". What I mean is that we will lose our identity and integrity as Malaysians. The racial divide should be removed totally bar for legal and social constraints. Certain races require a certain amount of sensitivity. We are approaching a chasm of doubt and prejudice of races. There is very little tolerance to people nowadays and there is even less hope for our future generations.
I would like to offer my opinion on the Hindraf issue. Again I stress I am not aware of the true reason of their cause or fight. Neither have I been aware of the ethnic cleansing that was suggested by them. First and foremost they MUST realize one thing, we are not being oppressed by anybody nor are we being pushed down the rungs of society. The government does not owe anyone and any organization and explanation of their actions nor do they have to. They are meant to be elected to do the right thing no matter the cost. Malaysians I strictly believe have lulled themselves into a state of ease, and this has only served to weaken us. I put forth to most Indian people, I have never seen anything productive in most Indian organizations. I admit my scope is pretty thin but in my short life I have seen a select few of Indians who have really tried to improve their lives. We are the minority, and as the minority we need unity and cooperation to handle our future. Many will hate me for this but I ask you one thing, look to yourself and your comrades, what has your unity bought you. Why is it we can't succeed? Why is it that we have always been at bottom rung of the social ladder? The answer is simple, we don't want to rise and neither will we help amongst each other. Fighting together is one thing, but standing alone is another. Can you confidently say that we could have a peaceful gathering. I do not think so. I do not hate nor look down upon the Indians, in fact I believe that they have equal potential to succeed. I plead to the people to let go of their pride before it is stripped from them. I have always been proud of being Indian and I will always be. In this new age thought and proper conduct are necessary. Charismatic and powerful leaders are needed, not greedy manipulative individuals who only think of the short term. Before you point to me to say that I am providing the divide and make baseless allegations look to yourself and prove me wrong. Rise as a people, stand tall and shake the heavens.
Between freedom fighting and terrorizing is a very fine line. Let us not take for granted that we are sojourners and we will never be more. We are citizens on a foreign land. We will never have equal rights nor equal opportunity. The fight for success, wealth, freedom, honour, survival, whatever you would call it has just begun and life is far from over. Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves and committing ourselves to an unnecessary battle against an unseen enemy. We must remove ourselves from the denial that binds us as a people. I admire the strength and bravery of the Hindraf members to go against all odds but what has that brought them, outright opposition and oppression. Have we gotten free, has the people been releases from their suffering. Has some proverbial knight on a stallion come to save us. NO. We are still as we were, life goes on and we have dropped one more rung.
I have heard of many issues pertaining to the Indians such as the tearing down of temples and the poverty rate (I mean the hardcore poor). Honestly, did we really need to make a truly big issue out of it? I understand these are really important and sensitive matters but there are proper channels and methods to get the message across. This is not the way. Perhaps the people cannot take it any more. Perhaps this is one act of desperation from continuous disappointments from one attempt to another. Hence here, perseverance is the key. Right now, no big changes are possible and the people in general will be monitored. I personally believe that it is necessary to maintain the safety of the country as a whole. Instability is too important issue that can and will shake faith in our country. To those who can, why not try to help, one by one, individual by individual to succeed. This may take 5 years, maybe 100 years, perhaps forever but eventually things will improve and we will not just be the minority. Fighting in silence is a far harder struggle than outright opposition and it will bear more fruit in the long run. If I have offended anyone you have my sincerest apologies and I hope you will carry an open mind. I neither stand for or against the government nor the people, whatever price must be paid for the country maintain its sovereignty is to small a price. Remember you are a MALAYSIAN first before you are Malay, Chinese, Indian, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, yourself, a mother, a son, a father, a daughter, a wife, a husband etc.
The words of a deranged mind,
Sincerely.
